This project involves the construction of fire protection upgrades at four (4) existing Colorado river aqueduct pumping plants located at Lake Havasu, California, (Whitsett-Intake), Iron Mountain, California, (Iron Mountain), Eagle Mountain, california, (Eagle Mountain), and Chiroco Summit, California (Julian-Hinds). The total overall distance between the four (4) pumping plants is over 100 miles.

Principal features of the project include the engineering, design, procurement of required County building and fire department permits, (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties), QA/QC monitoring and testing, and construction of new masonry and pre-engineered metal fire pump buildings, the installation of 1500 GPM electric-driven fire pumps, the installation of approximately 15,000 lf of 8", 6", & 4" PVC fire distribution main piping systems, installation of new fire hydrants, installation of joint trench fire alarm conduits, hot-tapping existing transformer cooling water piping systems, demolition of existing wet-pipe sprinkler systems, the installation of new fire detection and alarm systems, modifications to the existing plant 480V station service bus rack, installation of all electrical and control systems, structural concrete work, replacement of asphalt paving work, painting and coating work, and acceptance testing for County fire authorities.
